Fight as an elite super soldier in Crystal Dynamics' new game.

- Eidos today announced the development of Project: Snowblind, a first-person action shooter developed by Crystal Dynamics, the same team behind the Soul Reaver series. In the game, players take the role of an elite super soldier in a near-future war, where they can use unique weapons, abilities, and high-tech gadgets.

John Chowanec, producer for Project: Snowblind at Crystal Dynamics said: "Project: Snowblind makes dynamic usage of high tech gadgetry and futuristic weapons in combat situations. This, combined with 16-player online action, will no doubt bring about a frenetic gameplay experience that gamers will want to experience. Project: Snowblind is the answer for those longing for a non-stop, action-packed ride."

Project: Snowblind is set in a near future Hong Kong. The year is 2065. 2nd Lt. Nathan Frost is just a regular grunt until he volunteers for a super-soldier transformation for an international army called the Liberty Coalition. A painful series of surgeries gives Frost extra-normal abilities via implanted enhancements, which place him on the frontlines of a war against a destructive regime. After a military coup leaves him stranded in hostile territory and cut off from command with only a handful of men, Frost must stop the militia's secret weapon that threatens to plunge the world into darkness.

Like in Deus Ex, which confirms to be one of the most influential videogames of all times, players can use different bio-enhancements to augment their character's attributes and abilities. This should let players create their own way to play the game.

Eidos promises also a rich arsenal of weapons and gadgets; all primary weapons will have secondary fire options, while high tech gadgets will be fundamental in ensuring your character's survival.

The game, next to the single player mode, will also feature multiplayer and online modes such as deathmatch, capture the flag, and many others, complete with voice over IP support.

Project: Snowblind will be available this winter for PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC. You can find screenshots and a trailer of the game in the official website.
