ShellShock: Nam '67 goes gold
Eidos announces the North American version is finally complete.
Thursday, September 9, 2004 - Eidos Interactive today announced that the North American version of ShellShock: Nam '67 has finally gone gold. The game, released in U.K. on September 3rd and currently the second best selling game of the week after Conflict: Vietnam (see a pattern?), will arrive in North America on September 14th.
In the game, developed by Guerilla, players take the role of a rookie soldier on his first experience in Vietnam - the game is focused on providing a realistic experience, showing the horror, fear, chaos of one of the most controversial and cruel wars in history. The main character progresses from a rookie to a Special Forces member, with missions changing accordingly from large scale battlefield encounters to stealth-based ones.
Players must survive in many different environmental situations, from the lush wetlands of the South Vietnam to the mountainous region of the North. The game includes a realistic recreation of the claustrophobic tunnels used during the war, hiding places, and well-hidden booby traps.
