First next-generation console game unveiled

Friday, April 2, 2004 - Digital Extremes, the U.K. based development team behind Unreal Tournament, today released first information and a trailer of Dark Sector, a game designed to be released on "next generation" consoles - probably the Playstation 3 and the Xbox Next.
The impressive trailer, also available in the official website of Dark Sector, is made entirely of real time graphics, not pre-rendered CG movies. Of course, since the exact specs of the next generation of consoles are still unknown, the engine was running on a system that should be close to the potentialities of the Playstation 3 and the Xbox Next.
Set in a futuristic world, the brief but truly impressive trailer shows a commando of armored soldiers moving through the corridors of a dark spaceship.
How close the trailer can be to what we'll actually see in the games of the next future is hard to say, but it's undeniably worth a look - and a download.
