Namco announces Ace Combat 5
Namco Hometek will release the new installment this year - and it seems that fighter pilots will have an augmented dose of realism.

- Namco Hometek today announced the release date of the new installment in the Ace Combat series. Titled Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War, the game will be released on Fall 2004 in North America. The game will feature photorealistic graphics, as you can witness thanks to our Ace Combat 5 gallery, and will include 50 licensed playable planes, 30 game missions, and a rich selection of gameplay modes.

Looking back at Ace Combat 4, we can say that Namco knows how to blend storyline within a simulation game - Ace Combat 5 will be no different, including hours of spoken dialogues and cut-scenes to reveal its storyline.

A completely new feature for the series will be the Wingman Command, which gives players the possibility to issue commands to their squadron during group attacks. Radio communication with the squadron should also add to the realism and intensity of battles.
