ECTS 2003: "The Twin Snakes" arrive at the show
Konami exhibits the GameCube exclusive Metal Gear Solid remake.

- Konami today showed at the ECTS 2003 in London new images and footage from the GameCube exclusive Metal Gear Solid game. As fans of the series already know, the game is a remake of the first Metal Gear Solid, one of the most amazing games to grace the PsOne. No official release date was announced at the show, even if the game was previously scheduled for late 2003 release.

The Twin Snakes marks an alliance between Hideo Kojima, creator of the series, the legendary Shigeru Miyamoto, and Silicon Knights, the Canadian development studios behind Eternal Darkness – this unique mix of talents is recreating the Metal Gear Solid experience using the graphics and the new gameplay elements seen in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty, including first-person view of the action, the ability to hang from ledges, and to open and search lockers.

The Nintendo game also features all new CG sequences, overseen by Japanese film director Ryuhhei Kitamura and utilizing the latest in motion-capture techniques. David Hayter – the voice of Solid Snake in all the previous adventures – has reprised his role, recording new lines for the new sequences in the Twin Snakes.

Now, we suggest you jump into our gallery and look at 9 new screenshots of the game – featuring Meryl and Grey Fox!
