A good haircut and stylish clothing make CJ sexy
While Carl can go around bare-chested, taking care of his look will be one of the new elements introduced in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
Clothing
The first way to make of CJ a stylish gangster is to buy clothes. Carl begins the game with a simple pair of pants and a t-shirt, but soon you will have the chance to wear new clothes and choose the ones that you prefer.
For example, Carl might be asked by the members of the Orange Grove Families to start dressing in gang colors, but he will be able to purchase the kind of cloth he prefers from the many stores available in San Andreas. You can purchase shirts, pants, hats, shoes, and accessories; from elegant, classy evening dresses to more stinky outfits perfect for a bit of street fighting, CJ will look as you want him to look. Collecting clothes will be a true mini-game for hardcore players; in fact, all the clothes you purchase become part of CJ's wardrobe. Should CJ need that nice evening suit he purchased long time before, he will just have to enter his house and go to a closet where all his clothes are stored.
In general, wearing new clothes will increase the respect of the people in San Andreas towards CJ, but sometimes you must be careful in choosing the right clothes before playing a mission or before entering a dangerous area of the city. Entering into the Ballas' territory with the colors of the Orange Grove Families will make of you a target for any gang member in the surroundings, especially if you find yourself in the middle of a gunfight.

The stores will offer several styles of clothing, at different prices. At Binco, a discount store where all the not-so-wealthy members of the Orange Grove Families like to buy their clothes, Carl will find cheap shirts, jeans, and sneakers. At SubUrban CJ will find more fashionable clothes, but since the store sells mostly name-brand clothing, prices will be much higher than at Binco; the members of the Ballas, one of the most successful gangs in town, like to spend their money at SubUrban. And if you need sports clothes, the ProLaps store in Los Santos is the headquarter of those who can't live without jogging for at least two hours everyday.
Haircut
A well-dressed criminal with the wrong haircut will lose half of his sex appeal, and he could even lose the respect of the male population in San Andreas. A stupid haircut makes a stupid man in San Andreas.
You will find many barber's shops in San Andreas, but old Reece, in Los Santos, knows the heads of the Orange Grove Families perfectly. CJ can choose among many different hairstyles; inside the barbershop, he sits in the chair and checks his reflection to select the preferred hairstyle and also facial hair. Of course, a more stylish or crazy haircut will cost more than a simple bald look. Confirmed hairstyles include dripping Jheri curls, Afro, and a towering flattop.

Tattoos
The mechanism is the same of the barber's shop. CJ must enter one of the many tattoo parlors in the city, sit on the chair, and take a look at the different tattoos available. The first tattoo parlor you will find in the game is next to Reece's barber's shop.
Los Angeles' tattoo artist Mister Cartoon helped Rockstar Games to create tattoos inspired by the real ones that gang members in the Los Angeles area have on all over their bodies. Tattoos have many meanings, and many of them indicate your affiliation with one of the gangs in the game.

There are many tattoo parlors in the game, and each of them creates tattoos with a unique style. In San Fierro you can find Aztec symbols and drug related images; in Los Santos you can get those strong black tattoos used by gangs to send a clear message when they go around bare-chested, including gang names, women, and guns; in Las Venturra, you can get all kinds of tattoos inspired by the addictive world of gambling like playing cards and dice.
