E3 2006: PS3 price unveiled
Console to ship for $499 in U.S., and 499 Euro in Europe.

Monday, May 8, 2006 - At the pre-E3 2006 press conference, Kaz Hirai announced the official launch price and date of the PlayStation 3. The console will be quite costy, and will ship in two different packages, one with a 20GB HDD, another with a 60GB HDD.

November 17, 2006
$ 499 w/20GB HDD
$ 599 w/60GB HDD

Europe/Australia
November 17, 2006
