Sony to stop production of PSone LCD screen
The peripheral will soon be shipping for the last time.
Wednesday, July 7, 2004 - Sony Computer Entertainment announced that the company will no longer produce the PSone LCD screen with built in speakers peripheral. The peripheral was released 2 years ago, and it allows players to play with their PSone everywhere. It's unknown if Sony Computer Entertainment has decided to cease production of the peripheral also because of the new portable console to be launched at the end of the year.
The LCD screen will ship for the last time this August; the PSone and LCD monitor bundle will retail for about 18,000 yen (about $165) in Japan.
