EA announces TimeSplitters Future Perfect
New installment to hit the stores next year.

- Electronic Arts today officially announced that the next installment of the TimeSplitters series, in development by Free Radical Design, will be in stores early next year. After the previous successful installment published by Eidos, this will be the first game of the series published by EA, scheduled for release for Playstation 2, GameCube, and Xbox.

Story
As usual for the series, players will travel through time, facing the evil TimeSplitters, determined to destroy the human race, in the past, present, and future. Cortez, the character from previous installments, must find the origin of the TimeSplitters and finally stop them.

Gameplay
According to EA, this might be the biggest game of the series, with hundreds of hours of gameplay and an improved Story Mode designed to tie all the mission together, instead than following the fragmentary style of previous installments. The game missions span a timeframe that goes from 1914 to 2401. The theme of time travel will be more developed, thanks to the new "meet yourself" feature: players will be able to be their own allies teaming up with past and future version of themselves. The game features also a two-player Co-op Story Mode, Challenge and Arcade modes, and a Multiplayer mode to fight up to 16 players online on the Playstation 2. The improved Map Maker will allow players to create detailed maps and then share and play them with other online players.

We hope to have something more about TimeSplitters at the upcoming E3.
