USB flash drive for the PS2
Datel announces a USB memory storage device for the Playstation 2 - and it seems more useful than you might at first think.

- Datel today announced the MAX drive, a PC-compatible USB flash drive for the Playstation 2, with a 16MB capacity.

While the capacity isn't extraordinary - the device can hold just double the amount of saves possible on an ordinary PS2 memory card - the MAX Drive can let you transfer saves from your console to a PC Hard Drive. This can be useful to store an enormous amount of saves, but also to exchange your saves with those of your friends or of players that might need them. Datel's Codejunkies server will let players download latest games saves with built-in cheats, and will make it possible to update Action Replay MAX's codelist through a PC instead than through a PS2 connection.

Datel announced the MAX Drive only for Europe - it will be released in United Kingdom on April 23rd, 2004. The device comes supplied with all the required software, and it's USB 1.0 and 2.0 compatible.
