Wednesday, December 17, 2003 - Credited with introducing the fun and excitement of gaming to a family market for the first time, PlayStation 2's EyeToy has proved so successful that supplies are being airlifted in from the Far East to meet the insatiable demand this festive season.
With over 2 million copies of "EyeToy:Play" already shipped across Europe since July, supplies of EyeToy are flying off the shelves as soon as they arrive in stores. So much so, that Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE), publishers of the game, has been using airfreight over recent weeks to meet the huge seasonal demand for EyeToy across Europe.
"The demand for EyeToy has been fantastic, from Day 1 of release in early Summer right through the Christmas season." said Patrick Inskip, Senior Vice President of Operations for SCEE, "The use of air freight throughout this period has been crucial to keep up with the unrelenting demand across all of SCEE's European markets.
