Black & Bruised announced for Playstation 2
Majesco announces a new game for Playstation 2 and Nintendo GameCube.

- Majesco today announced Black & Bruised for Sony Playstation 2 and Nintendo GameCube. Developed by Digital Fiction, the game is scheduled for release across both consoles this holiday.

“Black & Bruised's unique blend of humor and arcade boxing makes it a strong contender to be the next great over-the-top slugfest," said Ken Gold, Vice President of Marketing. "Young and old video gamers alike will have a great time 'beating the expressions' out of each other."

In Black & Bruised you can take the role of one of the 18 boxers, each forced into competitive boxing for different reasons. The characters should be differentiated not only by their look, but also by their personalities, thanks to an advanced AI system. More than 30 facial animations are used to communicate the boxer’s mood and reaction to the opponent’s punches. The graphics are characterized by cartoon-esque visuals, thanks to the use of an advanced form of cel-shading technology.

Other features for Black & Bruised include:

  • Five Gameplay modes : Training, Single, Championship, Survival and Two-Player
  • First-person or close-up third person camera viewpoints allow players to fight how they are most comfortable
  • Boxer’s Life mode – After a match, the console’s Full Motion Video (FMV) updates to reflect the impact of the fight’s outcome on the character’s life. It will not only define the stakes, but also affect the way the boxer performs in the next bout;
  • Special effects – Stars, perspiration, particle effects and explosions will indicate the effectiveness of a particular punch and add to the zany feel of the game.
  • Super Punch – Every boxer has a “super punch” to destroy his/her opponent. Fire, electricity and explosion effects indicate super punches.
