Final Fantasy XI release date announced
Squaresoft has announced the official release date for Final Fantasy XI in Japan. And you can also take a look at what's going on in the world of Vana'diel, now!

- Squaresoft has announced the official release date for Final Fantasy XI in Japan. The game will be released on May 16th, in a 2-discs set priced at 7,800 yen(59$). The first disc will contain the software to access the PlayOnline service; the second disc will contain Final Fantasy XI.

Players will need to have the Ps2 HDD (Hard disc drive) in order to install and use the PlayOnline service. In order to play Final Fantays XI, players will be charged a monthly fee of 1,280 yen (9.50$) plus 100 yen if they are willing to play Tetra Master online, a multiplayer version of the card game included in Final Fantasy IX.

Final Fantasy XI is the first online console RPG in the history of videogames allowing the simultaneous connection of thousands of players in the same game. The beta test of Final Fantasy XI started months ago. Thousands of testers are playing the game in Japan: Vana'diel, the world of the game, is already living. You can find a webcam on the world of Vana'diel on PlayOnline.
