Majesco unleashes Soldier Of Fortune for PS2
Majesco has unleashed the eagerly anticipated first person shooter based on Activison’s award-winning PC game.
Thursday, November 15, 2001 - After 9 months of develeopment by Pipedream Interactive, Majesco, Inc. announced that its first title for the PlayStation 2, Soldier of Fortune, has shipped to retail outlets in U.S. The eagerly anticipated first person shooter based on Activison’s award-winning PC game, Soldier of Fortune has been developed with exclusive new features that take full advantage of the powerful console.
“We’re thrilled to deliver Soldier of Fortune, one of the premier action gaming franchises, as one of our first offerings for the PlayStation 2," said David Elmekies, Director of Game Development for Pipedream Interactive. “Maximizing the system’s impressive capabilities, Soldier of Fortune® incorporates the acclaimed attributes of the PC version and has been thoroughly revamped with updated tools, maps and features that appeal to the console gamer.”
In Soldier of Fortune, players assume the role of real-life mercenary John Mullins, who is hired to use any means necessary in locating and securing stolen nuclear warheads. Track and stop the organization responsible for the theft. Failure could mean global thermonuclear holocaust. With both single and multi-player missions across five continents, players will learn the credo by which all mercenary’s live: hunt or be hunted.
Powered by the critically acclaimed GHOUL graphics engine, Soldier of Fortune boasts a 28-stage infiltration mission and new Death Match maps for up to four players to compete simultaneously.
